Math art: Simple, Child directed and allows me to cook dinner

Ever since we did those sculptures in the playground, I have been wanting to try the grape version at home. On Sunday, the girls refused to nap and I had loose plans of starting a project and cooking dinner while they napped. The nap didnt really work out, and as a consequence, the plans for the project, which I cant remember for the life of me what it was, were put on hold. I believe they vaguely had something to do with either crocheting or sewing.

Instead, while I cooked spaghetti, I had to feed two rather hungry girls who were clamoring for attention. I opened the fridge and found the pack of grapes and left over toothpicks from the sculpture binge.

It did the job.
Here is Sophia exploring, with no instructions, geometric shapes. I always wanted to get/ make a geoboard for the girls to work on their geometric principles, but it looks as though this does the job fairly well
