The game:
A couple of days ago, I looked at the its playtime list and found an idea for story starters. The lightbulb went on. I have a box of odd toys that we keep in the playroom.
The materials
Just a bunch of toys that dont belong anywhere - a broken doll, a decorative elephant that i got for the girls from Milan, a stick from a windchime, a spider that Sophia had made in class, a contact paper sticker that Anjali had drawn for word quidditch, a pair of toilet roll binoculars - you get the idea
What happened
Anjali woke up at 6.45 as I was doing some sewing for the pillowcase dresses that i was planning to make for the girls. When she came to the living room, i finished up the cutting and was beginning the hemming. I put down the sewing, checked the pasta and then bought out the box.
We made a story that went like this.
The story
Once upon a time there was a girl who liked to watch quidditch. So she sat in the quidditch stands with a pair of binoculars. But instead of watching quidditch, she was an acramantula which she looked at and the acromantula looked at here and then she creamed, dropped the binoculars and ran into the forbidden forest. The acramantula gave chase and was about to capture the girl when a centaur (the little pink pony) rescued her and took her away and then they were chased by Lord Voldemort ("Say not the name!") and rescued by the car.
Wow, you weren't kidding when you said you had some odds and ends, you meant it! I think it's great you included other unused toys as well :)
