Happy Diwali: Diyas with Air dry clay in art at the playground

Well, you can do almost any kind of art at the playground. We took our art down on Sunday instead of Monday because I wasnt sure if we would be able to do something, it being Diwali eve and all. But if I have time, then we can do something today as well.
First we made air dry clay. The general recipe is 2 cups of baking sda, one cup of corn starch, 1.5 cups of water, cook.

this was the first time I was trying this recipe and I was plesantly surprised as to how the clay came together and how it felt

Here is Anjali working to knead it.,

We took it to the playground and ofcourse, with kids you cant really say what would come out of a medium

Two diyas, lots of snails/ murukus, some teddy bears, one dice, a puppet (these were taken home and not pictured. )

I hope the Diyas dry by tomorrow evening. They would be pretty to light for Diwali.
