talcum powder paint

With the advent of the new baby looming over her life, Swati mentione dto me how she hopes that people will not give her any gifts. That for Ananya, there were big boxes of talcum powder that no one used and that it has been sitting for three years.

I remembered two huge boxes of talcum powder that were sitting unopened in the kids' cupboard, which someone had gifted to Sophia, which we never used.

Hey, wait a minute - talcum powder is basically cornstarch right?

That means you can do with it things you can do with cornstarch right?

In our house that translates to paint.

We had red and blue paint, and the girls had a blast. Sophia painted red and Anjali painted blue. The paintings have a place of honor in the wall. I'll put up pictures soon.

It was a beautiful paint, nice and thick and when it dried, it felt so smooth, because of the powder.
